Let us pray, peace be with us:

"The Cross that has been the cause of our good and by which our mortal humanity was set free,
O Lord, be for us a strong fortress. And by this Cross, we shall overcome the wicked one and All his devices."

Dog's tail out of a tube!

The Synodal delegates of the Syro-Malabar Church to Bangalore, Mar Lawrence Mukuzhy and Mar Jose Porunnedam had a tough time with the Archbishop of Bangalore when they called on him to discuss about the erection of a new Diocese for the Nazranis in Bangalore! In this connection we would like to remind all concerned that they should learn from Mar Cleemis, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Church. Recently when His Beatitude arrived at the Bangalore Airport for the Qudassa of a new Malankara Church, the 'agent' of the Archbishop of Bangalore met His Beatitude and handed over a letter informing His Beatitude that there is no need for him to come to Bangalore for the Qudassa of the Church and he should go back. Mar Cleemis seems to have informed the 'agent' that he will meet the Archbishop and discuss with him. After the Qudassa of the Church, His Beatitude took a flight to Trivandrum without even meeting the Archbishop of Bangalore.

As we can see, there is no plan to put an end to slavery in the Syro-Malabar Church.  What the Ecumenical Council did was temporary measures for the Easterners until a situation comes when they themselves could take up the plans and programmes. The declaration of the Ecumenical Council that each and every Church is free and equal among themselves is sufficient for the freedom of our Church. Therefore, the Latin hierarchy in India has no right to intrude into other Churches.

The anti-Orientals are agents of the Latin Church in India.  Since the Latins dare to come out openly, they have arranged quislings in our midst. Even after the inauguration of the definitive text of Raza by the Pope himself on 8.2.1986 he could not grant it an experimental period even of three years! This clearly shows how powerful our enemies were / are! And even today, the decision of the Syro-Malabar Bishops Synod has not been implemented even by the so-called ‘Major Archbishop’ of the Syro-Malabar Church!

The Council passed by overwhelming majority the Decree by name Orientalium Ecclesiarum, the provisions of which are quite sufficient to undo the wrongs of the Latin Church towards the Marthoma Nazranis of India. The provisions of the Ecumenical Council, which have the force of law since 22nd January, 1965, have not been implemented for us. The reasons are in the least religious, but ecclesio-political. To put obstruction, they made the anti-Oriental Parekattil a Cardinal. The Bishops did not implement the provisions of the Ecumenical Council.

In 1965 itself we should have declared independence and acted accordingly. By 1957 the restorations were almost complete. Our enemies tried their best to prevent it from being enacted. By 1993 our Church became the one which they wanted and declared Major-Archiepiscopal, but obstructions continue even today..... Let us tell them and declare independence and act:-

  1. Before the arrival of Parankis, from the beginning, our Church was autonomous.  Church of India is original and Apostolic. Till the arrival of Parankis, the Church of India was not under the Latin Church. When Portuguese were expelled from India, the Latin Church directly intruded into our Church. In the independent India, the Latin Church has no authority whatsoever on the Indian Citizens. Even after independence, we the Indians are being befooled! Our Church is autonomous without any territorial barriers.
  2. Protection from our enemies, protection of fundamental rights, protection of freedom of conscience and the right to profess freely, practice and propagate religion are justice and, therefore, the Latin Church cannot do anything.

The truly Christian-minded Bishops and Priests will only be too happy if our Marthoma Nazrani Church is flourishing; if their motive is love and service and not backing up the colonials. "We have no ill-will towards foreigners, we welcome all, provided they are willing to serve and not to exploit" said our late Prime Minister in the first days of our independence. Those words are applicable to the Archbishop of Bangalore as well. It is a sad plight that the Archbishop of Bangalore is still exploiting the Marthoma Nazranis. He is striving every nerve to impose the colonial period again in India!
