Let us pray, peace be with us:

"The Cross that has been the cause of our good and by which our mortal humanity was set free,
O Lord, be for us a strong fortress. And by this Cross, we shall overcome the wicked one and All his devices."

The more latin, the more catholic, is the idea !

  • Extinguish the Syriac language….Introduce Latin …. (Dom Meneses on 19.12.1597)
  • Latinism ought not to be encouraged among the Orientals (Pope Pius XI in 1934)

The feast of Holy Trinity, Feast of Blessed Sacrament and the Feast of Sacred Heart are celebrated by the Latin Church. But now the latinised Nazranis in Delhi and elsewhere have taken over the same from the Latins! The Ordo celebrationis and the Supplementum, published by the S. Congregation for the Oriental churches do not mention the feast of Holy Trinity at all. Feast of Holy Trinity is a celebration out of the spirit of Oriental tradition. The Oriental Fathers never consider the Persons of the Holy Trinity as acting separately. Hence all the feasts of our Lord are equally the feasts of the Holy Trinity. Moreover, the Holy Trinity is clearly manifested in the Feast of Denha and the Doctrine of the Trinity  is strongly emphasized all through the period of Denha.

As to the feast of Blessed Sacrament, in each Eucharistic Sacrifice, the death and Resurrection of Iso’ M’siha is re-enacted and His infinite love in instituting the Sacrament of Eucharist is renewed. On Pesaha Thursday it is celebrated in a special way. It is because of the ignorance of the coherency of the structure and spirit of the liturgical year that such feasts are plucked out of the context by the latinised priests in the Syro-Malabar Church. If we are to follow the latin practices, latin way of worship and latin traditions, it is better to join the latin church! Same is the case with the feast of Sacred Heart. The substance of the feast is recalled on Passion Friday and it is liturgically coherent. Such latinisation is to be rejected by the Nazranis wherever they are.  Pesaha – Pascha: Paschal Meal is Feast of Qurbana for the Nazranis.
